New! Ukiyo-e Exhibition: Genius Artists of the Late Edo and Meiji Periods

Are you familiar with “Ukiyo-e”?

Ukiyo-e, from the late Edo period to the Meiji era, increasingly took on the characteristics of a “mass medium,” while also being enjoyed by the public as a form of entertainment.
It is also a unique Japanese block print art form, created through the collaboration of publishers, artists, engravers, and printers.

This exhibition, with the cooperation of the Asai Collection, focuses on and introduces the “medium” aspect of Ukiyo-e. Please enjoy the diverse works of artists who captured the turbulent changes of the era and created fresh expressions!
