The Sendai International Half Marathon is one of Japan’s premier urban road races, held annually on the second Sunday of May (the 2026 edition will take place on May 10) in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.
Approximately 10,000 runners take part each year, enjoying a course that winds through the lush greenery of the “City of Trees.” The event welcomes a wide range of participants—from elite athletes to recreational runners—and also features a wheelchair division. As an international competition, it attracts numerous athletes from overseas.
