2010 Local Government Exchange and Cooperation Seminar

The 2010 Local Government Exchange and Cooperation Seminar organized by CLAIR is scheduled to be conducted in Japan from 24th (Sunday) to 31st (Sunday) October 2010. The 1-week program will consist of a 2-day seminar in Tokyo, which will be followed by a series of study tours and exchange events in Shizuoka Prefecture. Specifically, during the 2-day seminar in Tokyo, participants will be able to gain insights to CLAIR’s activities and also knowledge on the Japanese local government system. Participants will then travel to Shizuoka Prefecture and attend workshops, study tours, and various exchange events hosted by the prefecture. For the study tours and exchange events in Shizuoka Prefecture, focus will be placed on the various disaster prevention initiatives implemented by the prefecture.

CLAIR Singapore will accept 1 participant from each of the 11 countries (the 10 ASEAN countries and India) that the office is responsible for. In this regard, eligible participants for the seminar should be local government executives. In addition, executives from the central government, research institute or other related organization may be eligible to participate, provided that the application is approved principally both by CLAIR Singapore's official counterpart in the applicant's home country, and also the Director of CLAIR Singapore.
