Local Government Officials Training Programme in Japan

To better support the cooperation efforts by local governments, which are mainly focused on personnel development through hosting trainees or the dispatch of experts abroad, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and CLAIR have supported local governments since 1996 in this endeavour whereby officials from overseas local governments are hosted. CLAIR Singapore has coordinated 170 officials in ASEAN countries to take this training programme as illustrated in the following chart:
